The idea of Lyrique germinated thanks to the visual identity of a luthier from Villeray. It quietly moved away from its Greek-alphabet look to a more experimental and groovy typeface. It is also finely tinged with the jazz album Éthiopiques Vol4 which inspired me throughout the character design. The curves in the letters are somewhat reminiscent of the console of a harp or the arms of a lyre. University project presented as part of the type design class taught by Étienne Aubert Bonn at École de Design of Montréal in fall 2022.
